Peer Review Process
The International Journal of Research in STEM Education (IJRSE) maintains rigorous academic standards through a double-blind peer review process designed to ensure fairness, objectivity, and confidentiality for both authors and reviewers. All submitted manuscripts are first screened by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board to determine their relevance and compliance with the journal’s scope and policies.
Each manuscript undergoes a similarity check using Turnitin. Only papers with a similarity index below 20% will proceed to the next stage; those exceeding this limit may be returned for revision or rejected. The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board then perform a pre-qualification review to assess eligibility for full peer evaluation. Manuscripts deemed suitable are assigned to qualified expert reviewers, who assess the paper’s originality, methodology, and overall contribution to STEM education. Reviewers are expected to return their evaluations within three weeks.
If revisions are required, the manuscript will be returned to the author for improvement and re-submission through the OJS system. The revised version is subsequently re-evaluated by the Editorial Board to verify that all reviewer comments have been thoroughly addressed. Based on the reviewers’ and editors’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision—to accept, reject, or request further revisions—within a period of up to six months, depending on the complexity of the review process. Once accepted, the author will receive an official acceptance letter along with publication scheduling and proofing instructions.
The complete flow of this peer review process is illustrated in the Peer Review Process diagram below.
